Graduation
Graduation is an accomplishment and a milestone in life. This accomplishment demonstrates discipline, perseverance and the ability to succeed. We celebrate and applaud our graduates. Graduation is also a time of transition, a time of moving on. With this in mind, I want to share a few important pieces of advice. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, no matter your accomplishments or failures, God is never changing (Heb 13:8). This provides encouragement to us that at any moment we can turn and find direction. True north on a compass helps us to navigate unfamiliar terrain. Jesus is our true north. As we go through life, we will encounter many “first time” events and decisions, Jesus will be there to guide us. No matter the mistakes we make Jesus is there to pick us up, clean us up and put us back on the right path (1 John 9). Jesus wants a relationship with us. He wants to talk with us and walk with us through every circumstance, He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). When you believe everyone else has abandon you God is there with you and for you, don’t stop talking to Him. Finally, allow Jesus to be the foundation of every decision you make in life. He sees further down the road of life than you and I do. He knows where He is leading us and where we need to grow. He is a great leader if we will surrender our life to Him. Everything in our culture will tell you to live life your way, but I want to charge you today, choose today to make Jesus Lord of your life and surrender every thought and action to His will. In the days ahead you will be thankful for this decision.
