Grace is one of the bedrock ideas of the Christian faith and is defined as God’s unmerited (unearned) favor.  So, grace flows from the nature and character of God.  He loves his supreme creation and desires to be in a relationship with us.  However, our sins prevent this relationship. Rather than responding with wrath, God responded by extending grace. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”  God’s grace is a demonstration of His love for us.  His grace toward us changes our lives. Our eternal destination is forever altered because God extends grace toward us.  His grace is unmerited.  He does not look into our  lives and think ‘they are pretty good people, I think I will extend grace to them’.  We can’t do enough to earn God’s grace.  We can’t give enough.  We can’t perform enough right actions to earn God’s grace.  This grace that changes our lives is undeserved.  Ephesians 2:4 says “that because of God’s great love for us he made us alive with Christ.”  We live in the Grace of God, therefore, we should have the peace of God.
