I often times ask people to share their story. How have you made it to where you are in life? What has your faith journey been? When did you give your life to Christ? What was that like? We all have a story to share. Some people find it easy to talk about their parents, the way they were raise and how they have lived. Other people have a lot of pain and hurts associated with their childhood. Others have a lot of shame regarding certain time periods in their lives. Many times we would just like to forget those times or those people, but God uses all of our life events. They are a part of our story. Notice I said they are “a” part of our story. That part is not all of the story. That “part" for you may have had a massive impact on you. It could impact how you feel about relationships, marriage or a host of other areas in life. That one event though, does not define who you are or how your story will end. God is our creator. He is the one who breathe life into our bodies. When we are saved, He uses all of our life to demonstrate His grace. In Ephesians 2:10 Paul says, "10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” God is still at work in our lives. He is crafting us into something beautiful and special to Him. Our story also uniquely qualifies us to minister to others. Our Heavenly Father comforts us so that we can comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:4).
So, what is your story? Do you see the scarlet thread of God’s grace in your life? Do you see how God has guided your life? Do you see when God ministered to you in the depth of your hurt? Has God provided opportunities for you to share His goodness and His grace? Have you told your family? How about your small group of Christian friends, or a Sunday school class? Are you open to allowing God to use your story to draw others to Himself?
Go share your story!
